OPENING ROUND OF THE 4. RALLY AT THE SLOVAKIA RING

Orechová Potôň, March 25th, 2023 – The first round of the Slovak Rally Championship started at the Slovakia Ring during a one-stage competition day. The absolute victory this time goes to the Slovak team of the Melichárek brothers.

25 crews lined up for the start of the opening rally, with a challenge to cover more than 70 sharp kilometers divided into 6 speed tests. Difficult but playful tracks of the race circuit perfectly tested the skills of the crews right in the beginning of the season. A fairly large number of spectators came to the area in unpleasant windy but sunny weather.

Absolute winners are Jaroslav and Erik Melichárek brothers from the MELICO RACING team, driving with their Ford Fiesta RS WRC, ahead of the reigning champion of the Slovak Republic, Grzegorz Grzyb - Piotr Sielilo with their Škoda Fabia Rally2 Evo from the RUFA MOTOR-SPORT team. Polish crew Piotr Parys and Damian Syty finished third with their Ford Fiesta Rally3.

Martin Koči - Radovan Mozner jr. from the STYLLEX team won Slovak International Rally Championship with their Peugeot 208 Rally4. They were followed by the crew from the GART RACING team Jozef Béreš - Radovan Plichta driving their Ford Fiesta Rally4 and the podium was closed by brothers Kamil and Erik Švec from Slovakia, also driving Peugeot 208 Rally4.

The winners of Slovak Rally Championship of Historic Vehicles became Czech duo Zbyněk Hora - Milan Bařina, driving their Seat Ibiza GTi.

Patrik Magyar and Adriana Marinecová with their Seat Ibiza scored the most points in the Slovak Rally Cup. Second place was taken by Ladislav Mokran and Július Kováč on Renault Clio Sport and third place belonged to Oskar Šaláta and Norbert Juhasz with their Škoda 120L.

The next round of the Slovak rally championship is planned for the beginning of May (May 5-6, 2023) in Slušovice.

The next event organized in the area of ​​the racing circuit will be the official SR car racing championship called HILL CLIMB RACE SLOVAKIA RING on April 1, 2023.
