The Grand Prix of Slovakia at the Slovakia Ring marked by Slovak triumphs

Orechová Potôň, Aug 25, 2024 - Slovak racers celebrated victories at the top event of the season, the traditional 2024 OMV MaxxMotion Grand Prix of the Slovak Republic.

Miro Konôpka from the ARC Bratislava team dominated the sprint race, winning on both Saturday and Sunday in a Ligier LMP3 prototype, earning him the “Pozor, zákruta!” award.

In the GT3 category, Antal Zsigó won driving a BMW M54 GT3 for the Trevor Racing team. In the GTX category, two Slovak drivers had a great battle for the win. Seventeen-year-old Adam Konôpka, driving a Lamborghini Huracán for the ARC Bratislava team, defeated Štefan Rosina on the track, who was racing in a Lamborghini Super Trofeo for Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra.

The Slovak anthem was also heard in the Clio Cup races. In the TCC1 class, Marko Kazarka claimed victory ahead of Croatian Valter Nezič and his brother Tomáš Kazarka. Simon Sikhart achieved an excellent result, finishing 6th overall and 3rd in the Junior standings.

The Slovak Grand Prix, as a traditional motorsport event, attracted thousands of satisfied spectators to the stands of the Slovakia Ring. In the accompanying program, they could also enjoy an air show featuring a jet aircraft L-29 Delfín and a dance performance by the European Champions, the Grandees group from Šamorín.
