Tomáš Svitok successful at the Slovakian Grand Prix at the Slovakia Ring

Orechová Potôň, Aug 2, 2024 - Over the weekend, the traditional Slovakian Motorcycle Grand Prix took place at the Slovakia Ring, with local racer Tomáš Svitok participating in the Supersport class. After his recent appearance at the event in Žilina, he was once again able to showcase his skills to the home fans.

Since the event awarded points for several national championships, Tomáš managed to secure multiple trophies. While he was satisfied with the results, he wasn't entirely pleased with his performance. From September 20th to 22nd, he will compete at the SLOVAKIA RING circuit in the Alpe Adria International Championship, where he currently leads his class. As such, he viewed the Slovakian Grand Prix primarily as preparation for the September event.

Tomáš Svitok: "I struggled a bit this weekend, and although I made it to the podium in the international championships of Slovakia and Poland, and also in the international race standings, securing many trophies, I mainly saw it as preparation for the Alpe Adria event, which will take place here in eight weeks. I'm not at all satisfied with my lap times; I have a lot of work ahead.

Our team, SK Energy, also fielded a second rider for these races, collaborating with Laco Veverka, who wanted to try a 600cc motorcycle for the first time since he's too tall for the Supersport 300 machine he usually rides. It seems the 600cc bike suited him well, as he managed a time of 2:14 in qualifying, which is a very good result for a first experience with a new bike. He finished seventh in Saturday's qualifying, eighth in the race, and unfortunately had to withdraw from Sunday's race due to a clutch failure. Nevertheless, he performed excellently throughout the weekend, and I wish him the best in his future career.

A big thank you to all our partners and fans for their support. After five full weekends of racing, I finally have the next one off, but after that, we're heading to continue the Alpe Adria championship in Rijeka, Croatia."
