SLOVAKIA RING presents another Super Racing Weekend

Orechová Potôň, June 3rd, 2024 - The upcoming weekend of June 8-9 will belong to the most significant motorsport event. Enormous racing trucks, TCR touring cars, top-tier GT cars, and single-seaters are heading to the SLOVAKIA RING circuit.

The FIA ETRC European Truck Racing Championship will come to the SLOVAKIA RING circuit for the sixth time. What can we expect to see? 5.3-ton racing trucks with a maximum speed limited to 160 km/h (for safety reasons), sharp racing chassis, water-cooled brakes, top-notch machines, and daring drivers who won't give up an inch during the four weekend races.

The leading driver in the ETRC standings is Hungarian Norbert Kiss with 60 points, who won all four races of the opening round in Misano. He is followed by German Jochen Hahn (45 points) and third-placed Sascha Lenz (35 points). After Misano, SLOVAKIA RING is the second of seven events of the season. Upcoming events include Zolder (Belgium), Nürburgring (Germany), Most (Czech Republic), Le Mans Bugatti (France), and Jarama (Spain).

The racing weekend will definitely belong to Slovak local hero Maťo Homola, who competes in the TCR Eastern Europe series and is defending his title. He currently leads the standings.

Exceptional races are also expected in the GT category of the ESET CUP series, which unexpectedly (after the cancellation of races at the Hungaroring) became a part of the weekend. On the track, we will see top drivers from Slovakia and Central Europe with many interesting cars such as Porsche, Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari, and BMW.

Formula enthusiasts will also enjoy the battles of young talents in Formula F4, a significant category for future motorsport stars. They usually begin their careers in go-karts and then move on to the more powerful F3, with some luck, talent and funding, potentially reaching Formula 2.

The final racing series of the super weekend on June 8-9 will be the popular Clio Cup, also within the ESET CUP SERIES.

The on-track events will be complemented by a rich accompanying programme for the whole family. This includes an air show and acrobatic performances by Hungarian pilot Gyula Vári, autograph sessions with the racers, go-kart rides, armored vehicle rides, children's attractions, a vintage and tuner car meeting, Military museum and Malkia Park. The Safe Driving Center will also be in operation, offering the opportunity to experience "a skid school" in new Hyundai models.
