Champions of the Future will bring future F1 stars!

Orechová Potôň, June 22nd, 2024 - The Slovak Karting Center (SKC) at the SLOVAKIA RING is celebrating its five-year anniversary this year. And in grand style: this June, we will welcome two significant European karting series - Champions of the Future and the FIA European Karting Championship.

The first weekend of June (May 30 - June 2) will bring a truly exceptional premiere to the SLOVAKIA RING: Champions of the Future is a significant and well-attended karting series, where future Formula 1 stars will showcase their skills. The event will also serve as a kind of "warm-up" before the European Championship (June 20-23).

Both series adhere to the technical and sporting regulations of the FIA. Current F1 pilots such as Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, and Charles Leclerc also started their careers at the European Championship. The competition is really tough, more than 180 competitors are registered for the Champions of the Future, and most of them will also compete at the EC.

They will compete in the OK Junior and OK classes, with OK (Original Karts) being a kart homologated by the FIA as standard (since 2016) with control only by throttle, brake, and of course the steering wheel. Juniors are for 11-14-year-old racers, and the higher OK class is for drivers who turn at least 14 years old in that year.

Champions of the Future, 2024 calendar:

1. Kartodromo Internacional Lucas Guerrero (Spain): 6.-9.3.
2. Val D'Argenton (France): 10.-13.4.
3. SLOVAKIA RING: 30.5.-2.6.
4. Kristianstad Karting Club (Sweden): 17.-20.7.
5. PFI International Karting Track (Great Britain): 29.8.-1.9.

The program consists of a series of free practice sessions and qualifications, with the main focus being on several heats and, finally, the super heats. Professional teams and young racers will enjoy a modern track with a length of 1172 meters.

Both the Champions of the Future and European Championship events are free for spectators.
