24H KARTING RACE OF SLOVAKIA 2024

Orechová Potôň, September 29, 2024 – The biggest endurance karting event - the Sodi World Series (SWS) has concluded with a record of 69 teams participating, the highest in its history. After 24 hours of intense competition, the Italian team PFV emerged victorious, followed by the German team PF RACING in second place and last year's champions from Switzerland, EIRIZ PRO, in third.

During the weekend of September 28-29, 320 drivers from 20 European countries gathered at the Slovakia Ring karting track to compete in the 24-hour endurance race on equal Sodi karts. A record 69 karts lined up at the start for the second edition of the 24-hour race, kicking off precisely at noon on Saturday. This surpasses last year's record of 60 karts, making it the largest endurance event for Sodi in history.

The winning PRO team, consisting of Italians Damiano Marchesan and Nicolo Soffiati, along with French driver Boris Bouvier, completed a total of 1,154 laps, covering over 1,330 km. Throughout the 24 hours they made 30 mandatory pit stops for kart changes and driver rotations. The competitors faced not only each other but also the challenges of fatigue and relatively cold, windy weather.

Four Slovak teams also participated in the race for valuable points in the Sodi overall classification. The most successful among them, finishing fifth overall, was the team YOUNG & WILD, made up of Simon Suchovský from Slovakia, Zdenek Ostadal from the Czech Republic, and Ludo Bayeux from France.

In the GOLD category, the Belgian team PANTHAA RACING BY JOVATECHNICS took first place, followed by another Belgian team, FRIENDS OF KARTING, and the Polish team DYMOVEE RACING.

In the SILVER category, the Belgian team BKRT RED triumphed, with the second place going to the SKR Junior 2 team from Bulgaria and the third place to BAMBOO'NED RACING BY TOP-OFF, also from Belgium.

The event was promoted and co-organized by the Karting Events Bulgaria, which has extensive experience in organizing similar races in Europe. Competitors raced on identical SODI SR4 karts with a power output of 13 hp, designed for the general public.

The Sodi World Series races are among the largest karting events in the world for the general public. They are organized in over 200 countries, and anyone can participate by registering for local races held in various countries and karting centers that operate SODI rental karts. Overall, it represents the simplest and most affordable way to race, as the competition takes place on standard rental karts.
