The last Hill Climb Race has determined the overall winner of the 2026 season.
Orechová Potôň, October 12, 2026 – The final event of the official Slovak Hill Climb Championship, titled HILL CLIMB RACE SLOVAKIA RING, crowned its winners. Martin Juhás of the Aries Racing team was crowned the overall Slovak champion for the 2026 season.
The two-race event of the Slovak International Hill Climb Championship, the Slovak Hill Climb Championship for Historic Cars, the Slovak Hill Climb Cup, the Toyota Yaris GR Cup, and the Slovak Historic Regularity Trophy attracted 40 participants, mostly from Slovakia.
The first race day was marked by sunny weather, although it was initially cold in the morning. As air and track temperatures rose, times gradually improved throughout the individual runs, reaching their peak during the competitive race runs. Participants had a total of 8 runs available – 4 practice runs and 4 competitive runs.
The fastest driver on the first race day, and also in the Slovak International Hill Climb Championship (MMSR), was Martin Juhás of the Aries Racing team, driving a LOLA B03/51 single-seater. He completed the 3,200 m track in 1 min 18.657 s during his first competitive run. Second place went to Matej Homola of the BRP Motorsport team in a Hyundai i30N TCR, while Michal Žiak finished third in a Škoda FABIA.
In the TOYOTA YARIS GR CUP, Jakub Vojtko performed best on both Saturday and Sunday, winning both races ahead of Jakub Kutlík and third-placed Nicolas Vojtko.
In the second MMSR race, first place went to Martin Juhás of the Aries Racing team, driving a LOLA B03/51 single-seater. Second place was taken by Mojmír Čambal in a Norma M 20, while Matej Homola of the BRP Motorsport team in a Hyundai i30N TCR finished third.
In the historic car class, Marcel Beník, driving a Lucchini SN 89/90, claimed victory in the first race ahead of his brother Tomáš Beník in a Ryenard Lotus and third-placed Miloš Zmeškal in a Ralt 032. In Sunday's second race, the Beník brothers swapped the top two positions, while František Kmeť finished third in a Renault Emolli FRE 97.
In the Slovak Hill Climb Cup, the fastest drivers in the overall standings across both races were Robert Kováč in a Fiat Punto HGT, followed by Tomáš Naňo in an Opel Corsa Rally6 and Tomáš Koiš, also in an Opel Corsa Rally6.
The participation of renowned circuit racer Matej Homola also attracted the attention of spectators and the public. Due to health issues, he had missed part of the hill climb racing series, and the final round at SLOVAKIA RING was only his second appearance of the season. However, his return to competition could hardly have been better, as he immediately secured two victories in his class (3a) and in the two-wheel-drive category.
The event was also open to spectators, with free admission to the open grandstands and the paddock, where the racing cars were on display.
