Grand Prix of Slovakia at the Slovakia Ring

Orechová Potôň, August 24, 2025 - Great motorsport action was delivered by the highlight event of the season, the OMV MaxxMotion Grand Prix of Slovakia at the Slovakia Ring circuit near Orechová Potôň.

Both sprint races of the Central European Trophy, GT Cup Series, and Slovak Championship were dominated by Miro Konôpka in a Ligier LMP3 prototype from the ARC Bratislava team. In the GT class, Zdeno Mikuláško celebrated victory on Saturday, and Filip Sládečka on Sunday. Sunday’s race was not completed by Štefan Rosina due to a mechanical failure - his Lamborghini’s brakes failed in the first lap. Fortunately, the dramatic moment ended without injury.

Maťo Homola won’t have fond memories of Saturday’s race. In the KTM of the Slovak team Carin Racing, he did not finish the sprint due to a technical issue, and together with Viktor Mráz, they also dropped out of the endurance race after a battle and contact with the Lamborghini of the Mičánek Motorsport team.

The mentioned endurance race was won by ARC Bratislava and Miro Konôpka in the Ligier, who took the victory with a 9-second lead over the Slovak crew of Aries Racing - Rudolf Beňo and Richard Gonda. Third in the Slovak championship was Racing Trevor, with Antal Zsigo behind the wheel.

There was also a great turnout for the F4 CEZ Championship, which featured talented young drivers who may appear in prestigious formula series in the future. Kiril Kuckov from Kyrgyzstan claimed two wins out of three, while the third race was won by Argentine driver Gino Trappa from Jenzer Motorsport. In the women’s category, Saturday’s win went to Mathilda Paatz from Germany, and Sunday’s victories were shared between Michalina Sabaj from Poland and Nicole Havrda from Canada, who is also known to fans from the prestigious F1 Academy world series.

The packed program of the OMV MaxxMotion Grand Prix of the Slovak Republic 2025 was completed by the TCR Eastern Europe races, where Czech driver Adam Kout dominated in a Hyundai Elantra. Additionally, the full grandstands were entertained by the Swift Cup Europe and Ravenol Twingo Cup races.
