Slovak Podium Sweep in Rallycross: The Beckert Brothers and Marian Gajdoš Dominate SuperCars
Orechová Potôň, October 18, 2026 – Slovak drivers claimed all three podium places in the top-tier SuperCars category during the rallycross weekend at SLOVAKIA RING. Norbert Beckert took victory ahead of his brother Bruno Beckert and Marián Gajdoš. The home drivers excelled in a field of 145 competitors from four countries, who took part in the international event and Friday’s Rallycross Cup.
The autumn OMV MAXXMOTION FIA CEZ RALLYCROSS brought FIA Central European Zone Championship races to Orechová Potôň, alongside rounds of the Slovak, Czech and Hungarian championships. On the 1,400-metre circuit combining asphalt and gravel, spectators witnessed close battles and dramatic moments. The highlight of the weekend was the SuperCars final, which saw three Slovak drivers lead the field.
Four Slovak drivers competed in the top category, featuring four-wheel-drive race cars producing more than 500 horsepower. Three advanced to the final, and all three secured podium finishes. Norbert Beckert triumphed in his Citroën DS3, ahead of Bruno Beckert in an identical car. Marián Gajdoš completed the all-Slovak podium in third place in his Ford Fiesta.
Bruno’s second-place finish followed a dramatic incident. On the opening lap of Saturday’s first heat, his Citroën DS3 rolled onto its roof in the final corner. The driver escaped without injury, and the mechanics managed to repair the car, allowing him to continue racing. He ultimately ended the weekend alongside his brother on the podium.
Another Slovak podium finish came on Friday, courtesy of Vladimír Marko. Competing in the S1600+ category of the Rallycross Cup, he finished second in a Volkswagen Polo. Jan Ratajský, also driving a Volkswagen Polo, took the victory, while Pavel Maryška finished third in a Škoda Fabia MKIII.
Marko also competed in Sunday’s STC-2000 final, starting from third position. However, his hopes of securing another podium finish were dashed by a collision through no fault of his own, and he ultimately finished fifth. Jakub Michal won the category in a Peugeot 206.
The last Slovak competitor in the rallycross event was Miroslav Pospíchal, who finished fourth overall in the STC+2000 class driving his Seat Leon RX.
The event began on Friday with practice sessions, heats and the Rallycross Cup finals. Saturday featured practice and the first two rounds of heats in the championship categories. Under sunny skies, drivers battled to secure their positions ahead of the decisive Sunday, which featured the third round of heats, semifinals and finals in front of packed grandstands.
The motorsport season at SLOVAKIA RING will conclude with the traditional exhibition rally, KEKO AUTO SHOW, taking place on 27–28 November 2026.
