Slovakia Ring hosts a pair of Panattoni Carboniacup races

Orechová Potôň, August 5, 2025 - The popular Panattoni Carboniacup is preparing for its next - already the fifth event of the season, this time on the fast Slovak track near Orechová Potôň. Slovakia Ring will thus be another important round of this year’s series on August 6th, with more than 90 drivers from several European countries competing for points and trophies. This time, Group A will run a combined race with the entire field.

In Group A1.3, Petr Zelenka will appear with a Suzuki. In A1 up to 1600cc, we’ll see Ivan Dobřanský with a VW Polo, German driver Josef Turban with an Audi 50, and Hungarian Viktor Papp with a Lotus Elise. In the 2-liter category, drivers battling for points will include Jiří Volena with a Škoda Octavia Cup, Jan Vojtko with a Toyota GT86, Vojtěch Krupka with a BMW E30, and Italian Riccardo Tarabelli with a Renault Clio R3. In A3 up to 3000cc, a lineup of various Bavarian vehicles will be represented by drivers Walter Forster, Emiljano Peter, Mattias Milker, Molnár Szilárd, Michal Adensam, Lubomír Kaláb, Olaf Hauesner, and Andre Mašek.

Three BMW GTRs will race in Group A4, driven by Christoph Drauch from Austria, Martin Tóth, and Balasz Mosonyi. In A5, Gábor Ponyiczki and Christian Drauch will pilot two BMWs, going up against Laszlo Keskeny with an Audi S2. A6 will traditionally host the Škoda Octavia RS III Trophy, driven by Pavel Fartl, Bedřich Prokop, Roman Nováček, and Patrik Kirov. In A7, Italian Arturo Pucciarelli will race with an Alfa Romeo 156, and German Günter Stubenrauch with a VW Scirocco. Group A8 will feature battles between Praga R1 cars, with Roman Roubíček, Alex Tlustý, Roman Váca, and Jiří Ruml behind the wheel. The strongest class, A9 (over 3500cc), will thunder with engines from Pavel Sovička's Dodge Viper GT3, Ivan Vlachkov's SIN Car GT, Gáspár Csáby's Porsche 991, additional Porsche GT3s from Michael Oliver and Radek Kolařík, Lamborghini STs from Tomáš Zabloudil and Pavel Bouška, a Corvette Z06 brought by Lukáš Urban, a BMW M4 GT3 driven by Frenchman J.M. Schuttrumpf, and two AMG GT4s driven by Václav Novozámský and Dobroslav Kárník.

Group B will welcome production cars. In B1, Jiří Bárta will race a Citroën. In B2 (up to 2 liters), we’ll see Jiří Vaněček with a Mazda RX8, Sára Zelenková with an Alfa 147, Pavel Zeman with another RX8, Michal Zimmer with a Toyota Altezza, Libor Šajner with a Toyota GT86, and Jiří Jež with a Mazda MX-5. In B3, Karel Bárta will appear with a Ford Fiesta. In B4, we’ll see Andrej Somogyi with a VW Golf, Tibor Horváth with a Subaru Impreza STi, and Radek Zimmer with a Lotus Exige S. In B5 (over 3500cc), cars will be brought to the Slovakia Ring by Pavel Sovička with a Ford Mustang, Jan Vojtko with a BMW M2, Petr Krejsa with an Alfa Romeo Giulia, and Petr Furch with an AMG C63. David Hurdálek with a BMW 135i and Ondřej Frič with a Lotus Elise will compete in Group B7.

In the prototypes, Group C1 will feature a showdown between Martin Tanzer from Austria in a Revolution and Daniel Hentschel from Germany in a Performer. In Group C2, Jiří Švec will compete with a Funyo SP05 Peugeot, and Jürgen Kapeller from Austria with a Radical SR3 RS. Group C2+ (over 1800cc) will feature duels between Pavel Sovička with a Lotus 311 Eleven, Markus Hofer and András Kirschner with Radical race cars, and Austrian Rudolf Schöflinger with a Nova Proto NP01. Caterhams in Group C3 will be driven by Simone Aglietti, Marek Bláha, and Tomáš Plch. Troy Sovička will bring another Caterham, but he’ll race in Group C4.

Formula single-seaters will start in Group D. In D1, with motorcycle engines, we’ll see Radim Reniers and Jan Kapr with Gloria C8F cars, and German Tom Flemming. Irish driver Paul Heavey will drive a Selco Leastone. In D3, David Nedbal will compete with a Tomis 99-02. In D4, double points will be up for grabs for Luboš Škarda, Petr Morávek, Snezhana Ilieva from Bulgaria, and Radek Kroupa with Renaults, and also Tsvetan Iliev with an F3. In Group D5, among F4 single-seaters, the field includes Jakub Matušek, Ralf Gläser, Tim Rädlein, Marcel Kieser, Marti Stoyanov, Miroslav Kepak, Nicolas Styk, and Kiara Henni.
