OMV Maxxmotion Rallycross with record number of competitors
Orechová Potôň, 10th October 2021 – The main role on the second weekend of October on SLOVAKIA RING was given to Rallycross championships of Slovakia, Poland and the Czech Republic. 127 racers have started in the FIA CEZ Trophy. Spectators have seen a number of fights and drama on the track until the last moment.
The rallycross track of SLOVAKIA RING is about 1500 metres long, competion was held in 8 divisions in Zone Trophy and 3 divisions in Rallycross Cup. Free trainings and first heats of the weekend started on Friday and were designated to Rallycross Cup, which finals were held on Saturday. The fastest drivers of the Skoda Cup were Petr Kolar (Skoda Favorit), Martin Namjan and Lukas Krotil (both Skoda Felicia).
The sunny Saturday afternoon continued with heats of the remaining division. Drivers collected important points for the semi- and final heats. Colder weather and overcast have helped to make the racing even more exciting. The best Slovak drivers Pavol Zachar in STC+2000 class and Tomas Stransky on Citroen C2 ins STV -1600 both finished on the fifth place.
The most eye-catching category, as always, were Super Cars, where the starting grid was full of special racing cars with power of solid 500 HP. The fastest of the category was Mate Benyo on Ford Focus.
The last event of the season on SLOVAKIA RING is going to be held on 12th and 13th Novmber. The Keskomobile Auto Show is a traditional exhibiton rally.
