New Lap Record at Slovakia Ring

Orechová Potôň, September 7, 2026 - This weekend, SLOVAKIA RING hosted the fifth round of the international Alpe Adria motorcycle championship, which also included the national championships of several countries, including Slovakia. In a strong international field featuring riders from across Europe, the Slovak competitors also made their mark, delighting the many spectators in attendance with some impressive performances.

As part of the free access to the grandstands, spectators also had the opportunity to visit the race paddock, where they could get a behind-the-scenes look at the individual teams and meet the riders. They made full use of this opportunity, getting the chance to chat with and take photos alongside some of the stars of motorcycle racing who competed at the event.

And there were certainly some big names there. For example, four-time FIM EWC World Champion David Checa of Spain was one of the event's biggest attractions. He treated the races as preparation for the 24-hour Bol d'Or, where he will compete for Slovak team Maco Racing. The legendary Spaniard rode the team's Yamaha for the first time and immediately secured two podium finishes in the Superbike class.

As expected, the Superbike class was dominated by Czech rider Michal Filla, who also became the official lap-record holder at our circuit once again after several years. During the second race, he set a time of 2:02.452.

However, it was not only the international riders who delighted the spectators with their performances. The home representatives also put on a great show. In the fantastic battles involving the large group of riders in the Supersport 300 class, Jakub Adamik stood out, finishing fourth in all three races – both main races as well as the Sprint Race. Although he was slightly disappointed not to make it onto the podium, his riding was highly impressive and his progress as a racer is unmistakable.

The biggest successes among the Slovak riders were achieved by Ladislav Veverka in the 600 New Generation class. He won both the first race and the Sprint Race, while in the second race he was only denied victory at the very end by Czech rider Václav Bittman, who thus repaid Veverka for his defeat in the Sprint Race. Tomáš Svitok was also successful, securing three second-place finishes in the Supersport class.

Polish rider Patrycja Sowa, who competes under a license issued by the Slovak Motorcycle Federation, also earned great admiration. She secured podium finishes in both the 600 NG and Sportbike classes. Peter Gazdík also showed significant progress, finishing eighth in the second Superstock 1000 race.

The entire weekend at SLOVAKIA RING was blessed with ideal weather, contributing to the successful running of the event. Fortunately, even the riders' crashes ended without any serious injuries, and all the fans and competitors headed home with great memories and already looking forward to the next round of the Alpe Adria championship, which will certainly return to our circuit in 2027.
