Masters of Rallycross at the Slovakia Ring

Orechová Potôň, 7. október 2024 - The Slovakia Ring is set to host another significant international event in its 15th anniversary season: the exciting OMV MaxxMotion FIA CEZ Rallycross 2024, taking place from October 18 to 20.

The Central European FIA Trophy in Rallycross has been a beloved staple since 2015. It combines rally and circuit racing, with drivers competing side by side, not just against the clock. After starting on the traditional finishing straight, they quickly move onto a special unpaved gravel surface, which makes up 35% of the total 1400-meter circuit. Included in the gravel section is the famous "joker" lap, which extends the track by an additional 25 meters.

Each driver must complete one joker lap during the heats - when they do so depends on the quality of their start and the positions of the other cars in the race. The joker lap can often turn the tables, making winners out of those who were previously behind, and vice versa.

The weekend kicks off with free practice, followed by heats to qualify for the semifinals and finals. There are three heats, each lasting four laps, while the semifinals and finals consist of six laps. The start grid features three rows with two cars each (a maximum of six cars). During the short laps, drivers fiercely compete for victory.

In addition to the zone championships, drivers will also compete in national championships from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Hungary, as well as Czech historic vehicles (ČTHV) and the Rallycross Cup. A variety of car types and classes will be showcased, including SuperCars, STC classes of various engine sizes and S1600.
