Autumn rallycross did not disappoint again
Orechová Potôň, October 20, 2025 – The penultimate October weekend at the SLOVAKIA RING circuit belonged to the traditional autumn event – the rallycross championships of Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and the FIA Central European Zone. A total of 138 racers from five European countries lined up at the start. Spectators in the stands witnessed numerous battles and drama right up to the final moment.
Over the weekend, drivers in 5 different zone racing divisions, three national championships, and five associated classes within the Rallycross Cup took to the 1,400-meter-long track. Friday's free practice and heats primarily belonged to the Rallycross Cup, whose final races also took place on the same day. The three fastest drivers in the S1600+ division, which included Slovak participation, were Vlado Marko in a VW Polo, ahead of Stanislav Trnka from the Czech Republic in a Škoda Fabia, and third place went to Slovak driver Jakub Tarina in a Seat Leon.
Saturday was dedicated to practice and two series of heats for the championship divisions. In windy but dry weather, the drivers collected important points for Sunday’s semi-final and final races.
Sunday belonged to the third series of heats followed by the semi-final/final races. Under beautiful sunny weather, spectators in the stands once again witnessed many battles and thrilling races right up to the last moments.
As usual, the biggest draw was the strongest class, Super Cars, featuring 4x4 machines with over 500 horsepower. This time, five Slovak drivers competed in this category. Unfortunately, technical problems that plagued most of our drivers throughout the weekend relegated them to reserve roles on the final grid. In the end, only Pavol Zlatoš in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9 made it to the final, where he finished in fifth place. First place went to István Antal in an Audi A1, second to Aleš Fučík from the Czech Republic in a VW Polo, and third place to Polish driver Zbigniew Staniszewski in a Ford Fiesta R5.
Spectators witnessed exciting battles in the STC+2000 class, where our Jakub Tarina in a Seat Leon started from third position. He ultimately finished fourth behind Ondřej Šenk from the Czech Republic (Škoda Fabia), Oliwier Dobrowolski from Poland in a BMW M3, and winner Tomáš Michal from the Czech Republic in a VW Polo.
The final motorsport event to close the season at the SLOVAKIA RING circuit, as well as in Slovakia overall, will be the traditional exhibition rally KEKO AUTO SHOW on November 14–15, 2025.
