FIA CEZ F4 at the SLOVAKIA RING: Young talents showcased thrilling battles and plenty of dramatic moments

Orechová Potôň, June 11, 2026 – The FIA CEZ Formula 4 series offered fans everything they expect from junior formula racing during the weekend at the SLOVAKIA RING circuit. Four races brought plenty of wheel-to-wheel battles, several safety car deployments, dramatic collisions, and further confirmation of the talent within the upcoming generation of racing stars.

The opening race on Saturday already indicated there would be no shortage of excitement. Right in the very first corner of the opening lap, Bien Cezary went off-track, though he managed to continue racing. Shortly after, a collision occurred between Igor Polak and Alexander Louza, which brought an early end to the race for Polak.

One of the most dramatic moments of the entire weekend happened on the main straight, where Matilda Paatz spun out after making contact with another single-seater. Her car spun across the track several times, but the other drivers managed to react quickly and avoid any further collision. The young German subsequently regained control of her car and was able to continue the race.

The tension carried over into Saturday's second race as well. A multi-car pile-up involving three single-seaters right in the opening lap meant an early retirement for Andreas Lo Bue and Alexia Danielsson. However, the battles continued into the following laps, and the spectators once again got exactly what they came for.

The female drivers competing in the Women’s Trophy also drew plenty of attention. Ella Häkkinen, daughter of the two-time Formula 1 World Champion Mika Häkkinen, secured second place among the girls in the second race and claimed her maiden winning trophy of the weekend in Sunday's third race.

Slovak fans were particularly interested in the performance of the only local representative, Miroslav Kepák. The young Slovak driver delivered gritty performances throughout the entire weekend and received a well-deserved reward on Sunday, finishing on the podium in the Rookie Rockets category.

The third race brought even more dramatic moments. On the third lap, Mio Olert and Piotr W. Orcholski crashed into the barrier following mutual contact. Although the incident looked very dangerous, the circuit's safety features—including the tire barriers—once again proved their importance, and both drivers escaped without serious consequences.

After Bien Cezary took another trip off-track, the safety car had to be deployed once again. The field of drivers subsequently finished the race behind the Safety Car.

Even the final fourth race of the weekend was not without its share of collisions and thrilling battles. Miroslav Kepák fought for another podium finish, while Matilda Paatz faced more bad luck. After a collision with David Gorčica, her car was left damaged on the track, bringing a premature end to a weekend that had started out complicated for her.

The FIA CEZ F4 races at the SLOVAKIA RING once again confirmed that this is one of the most prominent junior formula series in Central Europe. Throughout the weekend, spectators witnessed daring battles, dramatic moments, and the first major steps of future motorsport stars. Many of these young drivers showed potential that the motorsport world will undoubtedly hear a lot more about in the coming years.
