15 Years of the Safe Driving Center at SLOVAKIA RING: The Most Advanced Courses and New Challenges for Drivers
Orechová Potôň, October 28, 2025 - The Safe Driving Center located within the SLOVAKIA RING racing circuit is celebrating its 15th anniversary. Since 2010, it has offered a unique space where drivers of all categories - from beginners to professionals can safely test and improve their skills behind the wheel.
15 Years of Training, Professionalism, and Safety
The Safe Driving Center was opened in 2010 as the first professional training facility of its kind in Slovakia. It meets the strictest European standards for the training of car, truck, and motorcycle drivers.
The uniqueness of the center lies in its technology – it is the only facility in Slovakia that allows simulation of oversteer and understeer skids, emergency braking, and avoidance of water obstacles, all in a safe environment under the supervision of professional instructors.
The complex also includes four modern classrooms equipped with teaching technology, air conditioning, and sound systems. Participant comfort is further enhanced by the Hotel RING, offering accommodation for 96 guests, a restaurant, a lobby bar, free parking, and Wi-Fi access.
Close to adrenaline and safety
The center is located directly next to the SLOVAKIA RING racing circuit, which, at 5,935 meters, is the longest and one of the safest circuits in Europe. The FIA Grade 2-licensed track hosts prestigious European and world championships, car manufacturer testing, and driving experiences for the public.
Top-level training modules across 5 hectares
The 5-hectare training area consists of four modules simulating the most common critical driving situations:
-
Flat area (M1) – training for emergency braking, slalom, aquaplaning, and reacting to light obstacles
- Hill (M2) – driving downhill on a slippery surface, avoiding water walls, and testing 4x4 vs. 4x2 traction.
- Circle (M3) – training for cornering, managing understeer skids, and braking in a turn.
- Skid plate (M4) – a unique hydraulic platform for practicing oversteer skids.
New courses for the 15th anniversary
To mark its 15th anniversary, the Safe Driving Center has expanded its course offerings. It now provides 9 courses for car and truck drivers and 3 courses for motorcyclists.
Among the most popular is the long-standing AUTO STANDARD safe driving course, also known as the “skid school.” During a full day of training in their own vehicles, participants learn:
- proper seating position and steering techniques,
- emergency braking and obstacle avoidance,
- skid control,
- operation of safety systems such as ABS, ESC, and other driver aids,
- and the practical application of learned principles.
The center offers courses for all driver levels – from beginners and advanced drivers to professionals and enthusiasts of fast, dynamic driving or drifting. It provides courses for the general public, private groups (corporate events, teambuildings), and individual training sessions.

Motorcycle courses
The motorcycle courses focus on mastering bikes in various situations, emphasizing riding technique and confidence in traffic. They are designed for both beginners and experienced riders who want to improve further or start riding on the large race circuit at higher speeds. Individual one-on-one courses have also become increasingly popular.
Regardless of the participant’s level, the goal remains the same – to teach drivers to control their vehicles or motorcycles, understand their limits, and recognize their own reactions in critical situations.
A unique place for training and experience
Even after 15 years, the Safe Driving Center at SLOVAKIA RING remains a symbol of responsible driving, professionalism, and safety. Every driver who wants to test their abilities and learn how to handle their vehicle in critical situations will find ideal conditions here – in an attractive environment, under expert supervision, and with maximum attention to safety.
